Rule 1:
It is the obligation of every participant in the COSTA RICA TROPHY TRAIL to know these rules.  The Organization reserves the right to modify the Rules, the course description, the place, date and destination of the initial course in cases of force of nature or for reasons beyond control.

Rule 2:
Each participant in the COSTA RICA TROPHY TRAIL must be in good condition with excellent health and fitness.

Rule 3:
The COSTA RICA TROPHY TRAIL takes place on three stages from 24,25,26,27,28 NOVEMBER 2008


Rule 4:
It is a competition of individuals and of teams, which will compete for time for each stage.  In the end each competitor will earn an overall position  as well as an overall standings for each of the following categories:

- Men Overall: from 18 +
- Women overall: women 18 +
- Master Men A: from 30 to 39 years
- Master B Men: from 40 to 49 years
- Male Veteran: over 50 years
- Team (5 people): A team consists of at least 3 people and  a maximum of 5.
   To stay in the race, a team must ALWAYS be formed by a minimum of 3 people, the time for the classification will be the calculated times of all the team members, adding any possible penalties.

                                          
- Company Team (5 people) : A team consists of at least 3 people and a maximum of 5
   with the only restriction being that all members of the team must be workers of the same company.



Rule 6:

Engineering  and administrative controls: The checks will take place on the first day "in situ" ie, the day of arrival.  It is obligatory that each competitor present themselves to the Commisaires. The Competitors must fulfill their obligations and before leaving.


Rule 7:
Initial Orders:
All competitors will leave at the same time regardless of the stages and/or categories.

Rule 8:
Abusive language and unsportsmanlike actions may be penalized with disqualification or time penalty depending on the discretion of the judges.

Rule 9:
Participants who discard garbage outside of the proper receptacles are automatically disqualified.

Rule 10:
The use of illegal substances, chemical or alcohol is stricty prohibited.

Rule 11:
The organization of the event reserves the right to cancel or change any stage of
Competition for security reasons.

Rule 13:
Each competitor must sign in priot to the start of each stage.

COSTA RICA TROPHY TRAIL reserves the exclusive rights to use the images, COSTA RICA TROPHY TRAIL has the exclusive right to his name and likeness individually or collectively for everything that refers to their participation in the competition, including commercial use. All photography and video shot during the competition remains the sole property of the Organization and may not be used for private use without consent from the Organization.  Any proposed film, short, medium or long must have previously received authorization from Costa Rica TRAIL Trophy.
